Mountain Lake Chess Camp was founded by International Master Larry Evans in 1992 to help train his son Cory, a prodigy who later became a US scholastic Chess Champion. Since then the company has sponsored scholastic chess tournaments and offered summer camps that have been attended by some of the best players in the world. Mountain Lake has established after-school chess programs in over 60 public and private schools in the San Diego area, and continues to provide private chess lessons for all levels.
